Precision CNC Setup Machinist – 3-Day Weekend Shift

 

Up to $33.00/hr + Weekend Shift Premium • Big Bend, WI Area • Weekend Shift (Fri-Sun) • Full-Time / Direct Hire

Our client is a premier, climate-controlled precision manufacturing facility in the Big Bend, WI area serving critical aerospace, defense, and medical sectors. Operating on a fixed weekend day schedule (Friday–Sunday, 12-hour shifts), this position gives you 4 consecutive days off every week while maintaining full pay and benefits. Working in a bright, modern, air-conditioned environment with supportive leadership, you will take ownership of setting up complex CNC milling and turning cells.

 

Core Responsibilities (Daily Execution)

  • Perform Independent Setups: Execute complete, independent setups and operation on CNC mills and turning centers for complex precision components.
  • Tooling & Offsets Management: Monitor tool wear, adjust tool page offsets, establish work holding, and maintain tight dimensional tolerances.
  • Precision Quality Inspection: Perform first-piece and in-process quality inspections using precision measuring hand tools, custom gauges, and inspection gear.
  • Troubleshoot & Optimize Cell: Investigate and resolve setup deviations or mechanical issues to maintain consistent weekend production workflow.
  • Blueprint & Technical Execution: Interpret complex engineering blueprints, apply G&M code adjustments, and strictly follow GD&T requirements.
  • Maintain Cell Standards: Keep a clean, organized, safe, and 5S-compliant machining station.

Key Qualifications (Requirements)

  • Machining & Setup Depth: 2+ years of CNC machining experience with at least 1 year of independent setups on CNC mills or lathes.
  • Technical Fundamentals: Strong technical literacy in reading engineering blueprints, interpreting G&M codes, and applying GD&T concepts.
  • Weekend Schedule Commitment: Dedicated lifestyle alignment and reliability for the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) schedule.
  • Employment Stability: Solid work history demonstrating long-term tenure, attendance, and personal accountability.
  • Location & Authorization: U.S. Citizenship or Green Card holder residing within daily driving distance of the Big Bend, WI area.

Preferred Technical Assets (Bonus Skills)

  • High-Precision Background: Prior experience machining close-tolerance components for aerospace, defense, or medical device applications.
  • Multi-Axis Setup Depth: Setup experience on multi-axis milling centers or live-tooling turning centers.
  • Formal Credentials: Technical diploma, CNC machining certificate, or formal apprenticeship completion.
